Does this sound familiar to you?

"This person suffering from hereditary defects costs the people 60,000 Reichmarks during his lifetime. People, that is your money. Read 'New People'."

This rather horrifying image is a poster from the Nazi regime. It's advocating for "euthanasia" of "defectives" by appealing to monetary greed.

Compare that to the fostering of greed in the Social Security reform that G. W. Bush is pushing. Hell, G. H. W. Bush started it with "It's your money, you paid for it".

Social Security also is paid to folks like the one in this poster--those too ill or handicapped to work, who depend on guaranteed monthly income to live some semblance of a dignified life. By diverting funds away from the Social Security system for "private accounts", we are neglecting our duty to support the common welfare.
